    • Fresh and canned fruit

    • sandwiches
    • hard-boiled eggs

    • instant breakfast drinks
    • low-fat breakfast bars
    • juice
    • skimmed or low-fat milk
    • yogurt shakes
    • combine fruit juice and gruit with milk in a blender

    Ideas for Quick Healthy Snacks or Meals

    • Vegetarian pizza with low-fat cheese
    • Veggieburger
    • Baked french fries
    • Sandwich with salad (use low-fat dressing)
    • Potato baked in the microwave (puncture with fork to prevent exploding)
    • Tuna salad and chicken salad (low-fat mayonnaise)
    • Baked chicken (no skin)
    • Low-fat low-sodium frozen dinner
    • Spaghetti with tomato sauce

    Healthy Guidelines for Eating Out

    • Limit fried foods
    • Choose a baked potato instead of french fries.  If ordering butter and/or sour cream, obtain it separately and use small portions
    • Choose a salad instead of french fries with a hamburger
    • Order salad dressings on the side.  Dip the fork in the dressing and them pick up some salad with it.
    • Limit foods with heavy sauces and high-fat cheese
    • Eat fewer pizzas with lots of meat, instead choose plain cheese or vegetable toppings
    • Choosed frozen yogurt instesad of ice cream
    • Share a dessert with a friend
    • Order water with lime or lemon instead of high-sugar drinks
    • Do not add salt at the table
    • Choose low-fat vegetarian entrees more often
    • Choose low-fat pasta dishes
    • Have fresh fruit for dessert
