From the Young Adult Desk

 Or as the Ancient Kemetians (Egyptians) would say today … Life, Health, & Prosperity.  I am Lona L. Reeves, PhD, the library’s new Young Adult   Associate.  As an Indy native, I appreciate the availability of Indy Pub and love its new and enlarged location.  It is a    pleasure and privilege to serve the young adult patrons of the Independence Public Library.  I am looking forward to a positive and fruitful participation with and from our teens.

One of the first things I will be doing is getting to know you and helping young people to better utilize Indy Pub.  I have two of the most awesome     security professionals helping me to make this area and the entire library safer for everyone, especially you.  We all look  forward to getting to know you.  Look for and complete the Young Adult Survey.  Let me know about your favorite activities and programs.  Tell me what’s on your mind. 

Another important project for me at Indy Pub is the Youth Advisory Council.  Consider being on the Youth Advisory Council and help us help you more directly.  There is space to make your participation interest known on the survey.  The Youth Advisory Council at Indy Pub can help plan programs and displays, choose books, host discussions and just in general make life even better for Young Adults (ages 12-17) at Indy Pub.
